This cottage is designed for relaxing. Of course there is a TV with freeview channels and a dock for your preferred music player. But there is also good lighting if you choose to curl up by the fire and read, or study a map at the dining table, chairs in the front porch so you can soak up the peace, and outdoor seating too. There is no wifi, and mobile signal is variable - enjoy the novelty!
Step out the door and explore. Our quiet roads are good for walking and biking; hillsides, forests and rivers beckon.
Travel into Jedburgh and explore your first ancient Borders abbey, travel to Hawick, the home of cashmere knitwear. Search out local makers and artists - it's not hard, there are lots of us!
Nip back over the border to the renowned 'Dark Skies' Kielder Water and Forest Park - book a visit to the observatory for a closer look at the stunning night sky.
Drive just a few miles to Born in the Borders to watch their ospreys via webcam, and enjoy fine food while you are there.
Try our local ales - there are several small breweries, a dedicated beer shop in Kelso and it's there too that you will find Scotland's first micropub, Rutherford's.
We don't do badly for meats and cheeses, ice cream and more - try our independent butchers and bakers, delis and meringue makers!
